1981-2007 14 volumes in 14. Over 2000 p., 141 full colour plates, paperbound. Arbeitsgemeinschaft rheinisch-westfälischer Lepidopterologen.A privately printed, local faunal description by several different authors, with many hundreds of clear macro-photos of butterflies and moths including many that are seldom figured. This set includes the initial, unnumbered part, which was privately published by Karl Stamm, with the slightly different title and subject, "Prodromus der Lepidopteren-Fauna der Rheinlande und Westfalens". A continuous run, from the start, such as this one is now rare. After 2007, four more volumes were published. Several volumes in this run (2-4, 12) are now out of print. Tiny previous owner's stamp on most front covers and top margin of title pages. Otherwise a very good set.

Contemporary embossed cloth with gilt title on spine.Although considered by the author as the second edition of his "Handbuch für Sammler der europäischen Grossschmetterlinge" (1891), this work has little to do with the former, being twice as large, twice as thick, with eight full plates where the "first" edition had none and much more and more in-depth information on the ontogeny, phylogeny, zoogeography, and behaviour of the Lepidoptera. Many of the taxa illustrated were described by the author. An attractive and unusually fine, clean copy.
