‎Het jaarboek HistoriANT bundelt vlot leesbare, wetenschappelijke artikelen over de rijke geschiedenis van de stad Antwerpen en haar omgeving. Het thema van dit jaarboek is de Antwerpse dierentuin, naar aanleiding van zijn 175ste verjaardag. Minder bekende aspecten uit deze rijke geschiedenis komen aan bod: het concertleven en de filmprogrammatie in de dierentuin, de Zoo als spektakel en de relatie tussen de flora en fauna. Als toemaatje geldt het rijke archief van de Koninklijke Maatschappij voor Dierkunde van Antwerpen, sinds 2007 ondergebracht in het FelixArchief, en de zogenaamde ?Grote tekening?, een typisch negentiende-eeuws plantsoen. Een aantal bijdragen brengt nieuwe inzichten over diverse onderwerpen uit de Antwerpse geschiedenis. Eerst een opmerkelijk hoofdstuk over de zestiende- en zeventiende-eeuwse villa suburbana. Een sprong naar het einde van de negentiende eeuw brengt de lezer naar de brand van de munitiefirma Corvilain in 1889, een van de grootste rampen die Antwerpen heeft gekend, en zijn zogenaamde ?kardoezenrapers?. ‎Après quelques affûts infructueux en Gruyère, c'est dans le Jura neuchâtelois que j'ai vécu ma première observation du grand tétras, le 22 avril 1975. Grâce à la complicité et à l'amitié d'un garde-chasse, j'installe en forêt, un abri de branches de fayard et de sapin, sur près d'un mètre de neige, Nous nous installons pour la nuit; le temps est brumeux et la bise souffle. Ce livre ne se veut pas l'uvre d'un spécialiste, mais plutôt le témoignage d'instants exceptionnels vécus à une époque encore privilégiée, bien révolue et définitivement perdue. Les textes, extraits des notes et récits journaliers d'observations en Gruyère, écrits à chaud, sont transcrits tels quels. ‎
