‎Donatella Bianchi's work cannot easily be categorised under one particular movement or another. First and foremost, it is her way of facing the world from an artistic point of view. Works by Donatella Bianchi are usually imbued with a dreamy atmosphere, but are at the same time connected to her life. She regularly spends time staying in the remote wooded regions of rural Auvergne. The impressions that the area has made on her are all to be found in her drawings of trees and forests, which are produced in Chinese ink and pastel. Nature shows its rough and unruly side in the series entitled Harmonies secr tes (HS) and Les t moins immobiles (TI), in which we mainly see only bare trunks and branches. They seem to be looking back at us, a little in the way of anthropomorphic beings. From time to time we see an eye socket or an open mouth amid the weathered, defenceless stumps. Are we somehow standing face to face with a petrified human who has taken on the form of a tree? Donatella Bianchi?s nocturnal landscapes are bathed in an atmosphere of mystery, wonder and silence. The moon is seen, glimpsed through the branches. In some of her other works, we also see human figures emerge: sometimes they are fairly recognisable, while in others, they have already faded into white silhouettes. La seconde oeuvre d'Elien s'intitule Histoire variées (Variae historiae), c'est un recueil d'anecdotes sur des sujets fort variés (Commentateur : Justus Vultejus). L'édition donne également un troisième texte d'Elien, De Militaribus, mais Claude Elien n'en est en fait pas l'auteur, il s'agit d'Elien le tacticien, écrivain grec qui vivait un siècle auparavant, mais qui n'a été identifié qu'au XIXe siècle ; son traité de tactique est fort précieux, c'est un exposé sur l'armée macédonienne à l'époque hellénistique. ce traité sera promu à un bel avenir durant la Renaissance, et depuis sa première traduction latine en 1487 par Thedore Gaza, que reprend l'édition de Gesner dans une présentation par Robortello qui date de 1552. Les ouvrages de Claude Elien sont en fait des compilations d'anecdotes curieuses extraites d'auteurs anciens, mais qui ont le mérite de nous renseigner sur nombre d'auteurs rares ayant disparu. Ce type d'ouvrage sera par ailleurs abondamment copié et plagié durant la Renaissance, notamment par Polydore Vergil, Le livre des inventeurs des choses qui rassemble également des connaissances dans tous les domaines dans le style anecdotique. ‎Morning Change is a book on movement, location and nomadism in the oeuvre of the Brussels based German artist Heide Hinrichs (b. 1976). It is an invitation to follow different lines that are directed east ? east of Kassel, east of Busan, east of Seattle, east of London. The lines are drawn over continents and oceans, against the Earth?s own movement we unconsciously witness with each sunrise. Within the traces of these lines, static objects are put back into motion and they are made to leave their recommended positions of meaning. The publication brings together three groups of works, developed over different periods of time between 1999 and 2018, exploring the artist?s recurring interest in these topics. the horse ? a story that starts 10 year after the fall of the Iron Curtain, Silent Sisters?/?Stille Schwestern together with a series of drawings and installations that were conceived in response to DICTEE ? a text written by the Korean-American artist Theresa Hak Kyung Cha and On Some of the Birds of Nepal (Parting the Animal Kingdom of the East) ? an installation that Hinrichs created in the context of the first Kathmandu Triennale 2017. An essay by Elizabeth Haines is woven through Morning Change‎
