First edition. Hardback, leather spine with marbled boards. A little rubbing to the edges of the binding. Blind stamped designs to the spine but no labels. Inside the pages are a little darkened and with a few marks, but overall are in decent condition. The text consists of translations of excerpts from various German publications and coloured drawings of propaganda value depicting the evils and atrocities of the German war effort. Cet ouvrage était destiné à l'exportation vers le marché hollandais / belge, et le texte est en hollandais. Les coordonnées de l'éditeur figurent sur un petit tampon à l'encre apposé sur le dernier plat. Couvertures originales en papier gris souple avec une des caricatures de Raemaekers sur la couverture avant. Petit tampon à l'encre de librairie en bas de la couverture. La couverture arrière est vierge. Les couvertures sont propres et soignées, mais la base du dos est un peu fendue. This was intended for export to the Dutch / Belgian market, and the text is in Dutch. The publisher's details are from a small ink stamp to the final plate. Original soft grey paper covers with one of Raemaekers' caricatures to the front cover. Small bookshop ink stamp to the foot of the front cover. Rear cover blank. The covers are clean and neat, but there is some splitting to the base of the spine. The inside cover has the introduction / forward by Raemaekers (often lacking in re-bound copies). 48 caricatures showing the suffering of troops / civilians in the First World War. 48 pages. 30cm x 24cm.
