‎William Henry Goodyear (1846 1923) was the Brooklyn Museum s first Curator of Fine Arts from 1899 to 1923. In addition to being a vital force in the early years of the Museum s Fine Arts Department, Goodyear was dedicated to research in art history and architectural theory, which he began pursuing during his post-collegiate education in Europe and continued until his final days at the Brooklyn Museum.
