Reliure usée avec des traces de frottements et des épidermures, des rousseurs et une lithographie déreliée.Avec d'Edmond Fierlants un portrait photographique contrecollé de Wiertz et une photographie d'un de ses tableaux. Avec 4 lithographies dont 2 en couleur.Un ouvrage rare qui réunit les oeuvres littéraires du peintre belge Antoine Wiertz, qui consistent principalement en des essais critiques sur les expositions belges des Salons de 1842 et 1851 ; une étude sur Rubens et une sur l'école flamande et une étude technique sur la peinture. Ainsi que quelques Boutades philosophiques. Le livre est également important en raison des 2 photographies originales de Fierlants, photographe belge né à Bruxelles le 20 juillet 1819 et mort le 21 décembre 1869. Fierlants est un pionnier de la photographie belge.

Upper joint split over 5 cm, inside a clean and stainless copy. With a fine portrait photograph of Wiertz and a photograph of one of his paintings and with 4 lithographs. A rare book which unites the literary works of the eccentric 19th-c. Belgian painter Wiertz, which consist mainly of critical essays on the Belgian ""Salon"" exhibitions of 1842 and 1851; a study on Rubens and one on the Flemish School and a technical study on painting. The book is also important because of the 2 original photographs of Fierlants (see: ""E.Fierlands 1819-1869"" by S.F.Joseph and T.Schwilden p.170, bibliography F.12)."
