Frau Marsch über den Zeichner Werner, werden fast alle Veduten genannt, die Werner von seinen Reisen mit nach Hause nahm, und durch seine Kunstverleger Wolff und Erben herausbrachte. Allerdings fehlt eigenartiger Weise die schöne Ansicht von Freiburg in der Schweiz die wir hier anbieten und die wohl um 1730-32 verlegt wurde. ‘ Im Frühjahr 1731 trat Werner seine Rückreise (aus Italien) an. ‎Aan het einde van de 19de eeuw tot het midden van de 20ste eeuw was Wolfers een begrip. De naam stond synoniem voor luxe, kwaliteit en hoogstaande artisticiteit van Belgische origine. De firma Wolfers, producent van zilverwerk en juwelen, werd in 1850 in Brussel opgericht door Louis Wolfers. Vooral onder het beleid van zijn zonen Philippe, Max en Robert kon de zaak zich internationaal profileren en verwierf zij belangrijke afzetmarkten in West- en Midden-Europa. De objecten in art-nouveaustijl die door Philippe Wolfers werden ontworpen, waren het onderwerp van lofbetuigingen vanwege de belangrijkste kunstcritici. ‎Boeken en prenten waren van de 16de tot de 18de eeuw de belangrijkste bron van informatie. Ook in de Nieuwe Wereld en andere overzeese gebieden van de Spaanse en Portugese kroon werd uiteraard kennis verspreid. Daarbij speelden Plantin-Moretus en andere Antwerpse drukkerijen een belangrijke rol. Hun aanbod aan boeken en prenten was zeer divers: behalve om religieuze ging het ook om historische en etnografische werken. Meer nog: ook natuurwetenschappelijke en mathematische kennis, en zelfs technische knowhow voor vestingbouw, werd uitgevoerd naar de kolonies. De invloed daarvan in de veroverde gebieden is niet te onderschatten.‎
