First edition, bound in its original gilded cover with titles and friezes in relief on the front and back cover. First version of the cover with embossed titles and coat of arms. Title and author name on the spine, "Hoepli" written on the top of the spine, "L. 16" on the bottom of the spine. Yellow patterned endsheets with a six-branch star pattern featuring "Manuali Hoepli" written in every branch and a smaller star in the middle. ‎Slightly worn corners, top of the spine shows wear, interior yellowed by time, bottom half of the spine restored. The gilded covers remain stunningly beautiful even though a piercing eye might notice some rubbing here and there. A beautiful copy which will certainly ignite curiosity if well-placed in your library!‎
