Une jolie scène pastorale italienne. 1842. Bel exemplaire de cette gravure. Gravure sur acier, imprimée sur papier. Un bel exemplaire de cette gravure. Bonne copie propre, avec seulement un assombrissement fractionné. Pas de défauts significatifs. L'image mesure 23.5cm x 34cm. La feuille mesure 45.5cm x 57cm. Conforme à l'Accession de gravures V & A E.4959-1946. Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775-1851), figure majeure du romantisme, a représenté dans plusieurs uvres le lac Nemi, un lac volcanique situé au sud-est de Rome. Découvert par l'artiste lors de son voyage en Italie en 1819, ce paysage lui a inspiré des études sur le motif et des toiles achevées plus tard, comme Lake Nemi (circa 1827-1828), une peinture à l'huile londonienne. Robert William Wallis (1794-1878) était un graveur anglais de premier plan, réputé pour ses interprétations des paysages de J.M.W. Turner. Formé par son père, Thomas Wallis, il devint une figure clé de la gravure du XIXe siècle, se spécialisant dans les gravures sur acier et au trait qui capturaient les effets atmosphériques de Turner.‎

A nice clean copy of this engraving. Steel engraving, printed on paper. A lovely copy of this engraving. Good clean copy, with fractional darkening only. No significant flaws. The image is 23.5cm x 34cm. The sheet is 45.5cm x 57cm. Conforms to V & A engraving Accession E.4959-1946. Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775-1851), a major figure of Romanticism, depicted Lake Nemi, a volcanic lake southeast of Rome, in several works. Discovered by the artist during his trip to Italy in 1819 the landscape inspired studies of the motif and later completed canvases, such as Lake Nemi (circa 1827-1828), an oil painting London. Robert William Wallis (17941878) was a leading English engraver renowned for his interpretations of J.M.W. Turner's landscapes. Trained by his father, Thomas Wallis, he became a key figure in 19th-century printmaking, specializing in steel and line engravings that captured Turner's atmospheric effects. .‎
