Miniature leaf on vellum, 37 x 27 cm.

Azeglio, 8 maggio 1910 , il Consiglia Comunale (e) la Congregazione di Carita di Azglio, miniature vellum leaf, 37 x 27 cm, bound in a blue silk binding, with cream silk endpapers, kept in a blue paper box (upper joint of silkbinding with some splitting). The Italian text on the miniature leaf expresses thanks of the borough of Azeglio for the lawyer Umberto Tiranti who took care of the Azeglio's poor. The miniature consists of a large historiated 'U' followed by the full name (Umberto Tiranti) on a gilt background. The initial (90 x 82 mm ) extends into an elaborate foliate border showing e.g. two ripe figs. Signed in ink by Gregorio Bogatto, Geom. Pugna , Giulio (??) Il Sindico. Very fine specimen of an early 20th century miniature in the late mediaeval style.
