" Paris, 1836, Curmer, chromolithographic frontispiece, viii + 454 pp + 10 steelengraved plates h.t.(Johannot), all pages with woodengraved ornated typographical border (engravers Cavalier and Chenavard), 26 x 17 cm. Binding; full dark blue leather, with important gilt shell like design (décor à la rocaille), smooth back decorated in the same manner, all edges gilt, gilt roll-stamped borders and turn ins. This contemporary binding is unsigned. According to Malavieille; Reliures d'Editeur en France, pp 28, Curmer worked together with Blaise for a different binding on this book, and later also with Boutigny whose work is very similar to our copy."
