The Verne was first published in Paris in 1892 and in England in 1893, the illustrations used are from the French edition. It was one of 16 of his stories published in the paper. The BOP was founded in 1879 and was the most popular childrens magazine ever issued in the UK. The Annuals still provide a great read for "boys" of any age
