First edition of Teelinck’s intended “complete works” which were published by his sons three years after he passed away. Only three parts were published and his complete works were never published. Teellinck produced 127 manuscripts in all, of which only 60 were printed. Willem Teellinck (1579-1629) was one of the earliest leaders of the Dutch Nadere Reformatie, also often called the second Dutch reformation. He placed a heavy emphasis on the absolute necessity of personal conversion. Teellinck is a direct link between English Puritanism and Dutch Reformed thought. He was himself converted in England and was deeply moved by the Puritan emphasis on God as the centre of one’s whole life.
