"John Senex, engraver and seller of maps and globes, was one of the leading cartographers of the 18th century. ‎Denmark Corrected From the Newest Observations of the Royal Societies at London and Paris.‎

‎London, Printed for T. Bowles & John Bowles, (ca. 1719). 67,8 x 97,5 cm. Senex's generalkort over Danmark i overstørrelse er sammensat af to plader. Kobbertukket og i samtidig konturkolorering. Det er tæt beskåret in til gradskalaen og har enkelte smårifter og brunpletter i disse marginer.‎


‎Kortet er vel det største trykte Danmarkskort fra det 18. århundrede. Bramsen kalder det ""overdimensioneret"" og beskriver det som kopi af Jaillot's franske kort.‎

‎Très grande et belle carte de la France, dressée par John Senex d'après les informations de l'Académie Royale des Sciences de Paris. Elle est ornée d'un cartouche de dédicace décoré des armoiries du dédicataire, Charles Boyle, comte d'Orrery, et d'un magnifique cartouche de titre décoré d'un portrait en médaillon de Louis XIV, des armoiries de la France et de quatre figures allégoriques. Le long des côtes figure la mention "côtes d'après Sanson et les cartes hollandaises". Exemplaire aquarellé à l'époque, coloris postérieurs pour les deux cartouches. Brunissures par endroits, petites déchirures marginales, petites restaurations anciennes au dos.‎
