"2. Anvers (Antwerpen), 25 Septembre 1765, manuscript on paper, written in ink, in-folio, 4 pp ( last 2 pp blank) , written in French, very neat handwriting. (first page a bit stained and dustsoiled, paper with two old folds). Original contract for the establishment of a fishing company in Ostend, starting capital 15.000 florins. Holograph signatures of the five afore mentioned business men. The idea was to start with two fishing ships. This document , most probably, was drawn up by Pietro Proli in his Antwerp office. He is the first signatory. Provenance; from the archives of Charles de Proli ; photostat of a typed letter from 23 May 1945 refers to Theophile Smekens who was still occupied with Proli's bancruptcy in the late 19th c. ( see Denucé, Antwerps Archievenblad 2e reeks, 7 , 1932 nr.1).
