"2. S.l. (Antwerpen), manuscript on paper, written in ink, undated, (1750), in-folio, 20 pp ( last 6 pp blank) , written in French, very neat handwriting. (first page a bit stained and dustsoiled). Detailed business plan with organisational instructions for the establishment of a trading house in Trieste on behalve of the ''Compagnie Impériale...''. The plan consists of 44 articles and a conclusion. In article I is mentioned the starting capital of 500.000 German Florins.* This document , unquestionably, was drawn up by Charles Proli in his Antwerp office prior to the Imperial Patent of October 1st 1750 which regulated the foundation of the Company *Later documents all contain a higher amount of capital !. Provenance; from the archives of Charles de Proli ; photostat of a typed letter from 23 May 1945 refers to Theophile Smekens who was still occupied with Proli's bancruptcy in the late 19th c.
