Belgian physicist and chemist (born in Russia) Ilya Prigogine was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1977 for his contributions to non- equilibrium thermodynamics, particularly the theory of dissipative structures. Ilya Prigogine discovered that importation and dissipation of energy into chemical systems could reverse the maximization of entropy rule imposed by the second law of thermodynamics. Good copy (very small water stain on spine, very good copy otherwise).
