Illustrated with 18 colored plates by Alexander King, reproduced in fine lithography using the method of the Danish artist Hugo Knudsen, as well as many vignettes throughout the sections. Illustrations are individually protected by tissue paper. Works by the Roman poet Publius Ovidius Naso, better known as Ovid, famous for his poetry Metamorphoses, who, having been married three times before the age of 30, seems to have accumulated great knowledge on the topic.
