Conix Architects has grown steadily over the years, but it 's expansion has gained momentum in particular over the last couple of years. Founded in 1979 by Christine Conix, the architectural practice has offices in both Antwerp and Brussels (since 2004). It is a solid structure composed of a team of 67 creative and motivated individuals. Sylvie Bruyninckx became a partner in 2005. Key projects include the modern master residence in the historic Cogels Osylei in Antwerp (1992) and the renovation and expansion of the Atomium in Brussels (2005). Developing office buildings, apartments, housing and urban concepts form the basis of the architects' activities. However, to not focus on a specific typology is a conscious decision made by the office: every project offers it's own challenges. Private homes, interior design, schools, cultural projects, commercial buildings and renovations are also included in the portfolio of the architectural practice. The type of architecture Conix Architects strives for integrates 4 basic ideas: context, durability, society and know-how, which is always characterized by its open spatial concept. The needs, desires and expectations of the client are translated into unique contemporary projects. Conix Architects has created a book, with contributions by Kas Oosterhuis en Monique E. Bucquoye. The book is published by Stichting Kunstboek and is in English. 'Conix Architects' gives a review on outstanding projects, conceptual ideas and background information on the current and future ambitions of Conix Architects. New book.
