A complete set of this magnificent, classified and chronological arranged, catalogue of the Library of the Dutch Society for the Advancement of Medicine (housed in the Amsterdam University Library), one of the finest of its kind. This library was founded in 1849 and, ultimately, reached an incredible degree of completeness. Instrumental in foundation this library were the efforts of Jan Pieter Heije (1809-1876), physician, politician, poet and (co)-founder of the "Vereeniging voor Ziekenverpleging", better known as the "Prinsengracht Ziekenhuis". The Bibliotheca Medica Neerlandica comprises: 1) Works on medicine by Dutch authors; 2) Medical works of foreign authors (including translations) - printed in the Netherlands or in the Dutch overseas territories; 3) All writings on medicine concerning the Netherlands and their overseas territories, and is concluded with the appropriate indexes. A major bibliographical tool for libraries, collectors and antiquarian booksellers alike. Copy with the bookplate o
