‎Anon Anon 1930 Un bel exemplaire de cette gravure à l'aquatinte allemande, signée (mais indéchiffrable). Avec le titre "Ein Windstross". Début du 20e siècle, vers 1930, d'après le style et les vêtements nettement Art déco. Une jeune femme tient son chapeau contre le vent, tandis que sa jupe (coupée à la "longueur italienne") ondule. Elle tient son parapluie fermement enroulé contre le vent. Jolie mise en couleur. Filigrane sur le papier. Un peu d'usure dans les grandes marges. Gravure 350 mm x 195 mm. Dimensions totales : 460 mm x 300 mm.‎

‎A lovely copy of this German aquatint etching, signed (but indecipherable). With title "Ein Windstross." Early 20th Century, circa 1930 from the distinctly Art Deco styling and clothing. A young woman holds her hat against the wind, whilst her skirt (cut to the "Italian Length") billows. She holds her umbrella tightly furled against the wind. Nice colouring. Watermark to paper. A touch of edge wear to the large margins. Engraving 350 mm x 195 mm. Size in total: 460 mm x 300 mm. .‎

‎Collijn 292. Amund Grefwe (ca. 1610-1677), was the first printer in Göteborg. He studied Latin at the University of Uppsala and was the author of a few minor works. He began his printing career in Uppsala working for Professor Wallius's private press and later for Laurentius Paulinus Gothus. Grefwe moved to Stockholm, where he worked for the royal translator Ericus Schroderus and when he moved back to his place of birth in Nyköping Grefwe goes with him. In 1646 he was offered a job in Göteborg. When he had finished the work on ""Carionis Chronika"" he moved to Göteborg in 1650. He was not satisfied with the promised conditions and complained to the Governor of Västergötland. In 1653 he was given priviliges by Queen Kristina, which allowed him to publish and sell his own works and also scholarly books. In 1650 he published the first book printed in Göteborg: "" Christelige Gåfwors Apoteek.""‎

‎Three early nineteenth century Papier Maché snuff boxes Trois tabatières en papier maché du début du XIXe siècle‎

‎France S.P. C1830 Trois jolies tabatières en papier maché. Françaises, vers 1830. Chacune présente une gravure sous vernis sur le couvercle. L'une est colorée, les deux autres ne le sont pas. Les boîtes ont des bords peints autour de l'image. Les images sont un peu assombries et les bords sont un peu éraflés, mais les boîtes sont encore très présentables. Les trois images sont les suivantes : 1) "Devinequi ?" "Devinez qui". Deux jeunes hommes dans une scène arcadienne. L'un d'eux est derrière et couvre les yeux de son ami. Image colorée Semble être une aquarelle sous vernis. 8,5 cm de diamètre, 1,5 cm de profondeur. Sain mais avec un léger dommage à la base. 2) "La Veillée" Un groupe de cinq personnes dans une chaumière, attendant avec impatience, mais on ne sait pas pourquoi. Gravure sur bois sous vernis. 9 cm de diamètre. Profondeur de 2 cm. Sain mais avec un léger dommage à la base. 3) "La tendresse Maternelle" "La tendresse d'une mère". Semble représenter une mère essayant de sauver un enfant de la noyade. Gravure sur bois sous vernis. 8,5 cm x 2 cm. Bords peints à l'or et base en placage de bois. Bon état.‎

‎Three lovely papier maché snuff boxes. French, circa 1830. Each has an engraving under varnish to the lid. One is coloured, two are uncoloured. The boxes have painted edges around the image. The images are a touch darkened, and the edges are a little scuffed, but the boxes are still very presentable. The three are as follows: 1) "Devinequi?" "Guess who." Two young men in an arcadian scene. One is behind, and covering his friends eyes. Coloured image Appears to be a watercolour under varnish. 8.5cm diameter, 1.5cm depth. Sound but with slight damage to the base. 2) "La Veillée" "The Vigil" A group of five in a cottage, waiting expectantly, although who knows what for. Woodcut under varnish. 9cm diameter. 2cm depth. Sound but with slight damage to the base. 3) "La tendresse Maternelle" "a mother's tenderness." Appears to be a mother trying to save a child from drowning. Woodcut under varnish. 8.5cm x 2cm. Gold painted edges and wood veneer base. Good condition. .‎

‎France S.P. 1914 Première édition / uvre originale. Une belle uvre d'art militaire datant de 1914. Le tableau représente un groupe de fantassins français en marche. Signé d'un monogramme en bas à droite. Nous n'avons pas pu identifier l'artiste, mais il semble s'agir de RB ou RP. Dans l'ensemble, très bon état, avec seulement quelques légères traces d'usure aux coins. 20,5 cm x 26,5 cm. La feuille a probablement été retirée d'un carnet de croquis. Quelques plis / marques sur la peinture uniquement.‎

‎First edition / Original art work. An attractive piece of soldier art from 1914. The painting shows a group of French infantrymen marching. Signed with a monogram to the bottom right. We have been unable to identify the artist, but it seems to be RB or RP. In overall very good condition, with a little edgewear to the corners only. 20.5cm x 26.5cm. The sheet is probably removed from a sketch book. A little creasing / marking to the painting only. .‎

Lithographie coloriée à la main. 18,8 x 28,8 cm (dimensions de la gravure), 38,6 x 29,2 cm (dimensions de la feuille). Grande affiche coloriée à la main dénonçant les révolutions de 1848. Denys Auguste Affre, archevêque de Paris, pensait que sa présence pourrait contribuer à ramener la paix sur les barricades en 1848. Il avait commencé à prendre la parole lorsque les coups de feu reprirent et qu'il fut touché par une balle perdue. Il mourut le lendemain. La BnF possède le seul exemplaire que nous ayons pu trouver, sous la référence ark:/12148/cb38793121h.‎

‎First edition. Hand coloured lithograph. 18.8 x 28.8 cm (dimensions of the engraving), 38.6 x 29.2 cm (dimensions of the sheet). A large hand coloured broadside against the revolutions of 1848. Denys Auguste Affre Archbishop of Paris, believed that his presence could help to bring peace to the barricades in 1848. He had started speaking, when the gunfire began again, and he was hit, but a stray bullet. He died the following day. The BnF have the only copy we can find, Reference is ark:/12148/cb38793121h.‎

Lovely (wartime era) publication for making a 'stand up' farm with colour illustration throughout. Circa 1942. 12 unnumbered pages. 27 x 26 cm. ‎Vintage Disney Danish paper theatre / cut-out novelty, mid-20th century, complete with all components. A scarce and highly collectible children's paper theatre set based on Disney's Pinocchio, issued in Denmark and designed to be assembled into a miniature stage with characters, scenery, and props. Complete example in original box, the box has been repaired with tape. This is a delightful survivor of mid-century Disneyana and toy-theatre publishing, appealing both for its interactive format and its strong display value. Complete sets are considerably harder to find than loose or incomplete examples, and the original box adds to the appeal despite the repair. Box measures: 27 x 33.5 cm.‎

Containing colour illustrated soft board each 25 x 65 cm (folded), which are instructions for making the funnel-shaped peep-show. In almost 'as new' condition. ‎Attractive hand-coloured lithographic sheet with a sequence of captioned scenes from Daniel Defoe's Robinson Crusoe, including "tempted to leave home," "shipwrecked," "making boat," "building his hut," "rescues Friday," and "leaving the island." A vivid and decorative narrative print, evidently intended for a juvenile or educational audience, with the action arranged in a charming story-panel format around a central island scene. No publisher's imprint or verso text. No date, but style and hand colouring suggest late 19th century. Blank to verso. Signs of having been folded - possibly from a book. Neat repairs visible from reverse but not from front view. 27 x 43 cm.‎
