" S.l. (the Netherlands) , s.d. ( ca. 1700 ), in-folio, 30.2 x 20 cm, (10) pp (paper) + (216) pp (vellum) + (8)pp (paper), bound in contemporary full vellum, with triple blind fillets on both covers, vellum at the outer edge of the upper board worn and torn, some sparse foxing at the first pages but on the whole a very well preserved book. Unused binding containing 108 vellum leaves, a book ready to be written on, to serve for an important contract , treaty or testamental inventory. The paper endpapers bear the watermark very similar to W.A. Churchill N° 364; a foolscap with the letters I V . This paper was made around 1702 by J. Villadery for A. Janssen. The use of these endpapers and the binding style allow us to date the binding at the beginning of the 18th century in the Netherlands. Old unused books with vellum leaves are extremely rare.
