Herbert Stanley Morrison (1888-1965) was a British Labour politician. He was leader of the Commons and Deputy Prime Minister under Atlee's government of 1945-1951. He was one of the "Big Five" who dominated this period. He oversaw Labour's nationalisation programme, although he opposed the setting up of a Nationalised hospital service as part of the NHS. Edward Arthur Alexander Shackleton (1911-1994) was a British geographer, Labour MP and son of Sir Ernest Shacketon.
