Liege, Everard Kints, 1740. 8vo. In a nice contemporary Cambridge-style mirror binding with five raised bands and richly gilt spine. Small paper-label to upper part of spine. Light wear to extremities and internally with light occassional marginal browning. A nice copy. (8), 320 pp. + 4 folded plates.
Later (possibly third) edition of Merveilleux’s famous political satire on the scandals of the life at the Palatinate Court in Mannheim under Charles III Philip – it is one of the earliest works on thermal tourism.It was first published in 1738. Barbier I, 158.
