Bound in contemporary half leather, smooth spine with gilt title label, boards covered with marbled paper. With small tipped in ''binder's label'' T.C. van Stockum à La Haye. Very fine copy, with only a few stains and foxing at plates 23-26 ( which were stocked elswhere and added in 1842 - see note of the secretary Warnsinck on (pp 24 ). The collection contains 12 projects dating from 1819 till 1829. They fall all in the period when The Netherlands were again united under king Willem I. The collection has no separate general title. (It was published by Den Hengst in 1829). The first 5 projects carry a separate commentary named cahier 1 - 4 . (The first cahier contains two projects). They are bound before the collection. Among the projects : A court of Justice (ar. J.B.Rudd). Large work-house for the Poor (ar. P. Adams). A facade (ar. J. van Straaten). A library ( ar. T.F.Suys). A Sea bath installation ( ar. J.E. Ter Winkel). House porch ( C.C.Verweyde). A sculpture galery (ar. A.E. Joly). A protestant church ( ar. J. Van Gierdegom). Stock exchange building ( G. van der Jagt). Indoor riding school ( A. E. Jolly). Cemetery and funeral monument for the poet J. Cats (C. Kram). The plates are very well executed. The texts are in French and Dutch. Rare collection which contains contributions of important architects who participated at these architectural competitions. Early example of an architectural competition.
