Occassional marginal dampstaining throughout. A few leaves with marginal repair, with loss of a few letters. 383 ff. + frontispiece.
Later edition, first published in Leiden in 1589, of Lipsius’ early tract in political theory in which he, amonst other things, argued a government should recognize only one religion, and should punish dissent by fire and sword.
