Binding with some slight traces of use, interior fine and stainless. Available are the issues 1 (Mars 1873) -> issue 68 (26 juillet 1874). Complete with all the engravings, with at the end of each volume the index ( texts and engravings). Fine tête de collection of this Parisian periodical published by Richard Lesclide ( 1825 - 1892) also publisher of e.g. Le vélocipède Illustré, Le Ballon Poste ( siege Paris 1870). He was secretary to Victor Hugo for 10 years. The engravings were mainly by the hand of Frédéric Régamey ( 1849 - 1925). Other engravers such as Jules Adeline , Félix Buhot, Cattelain, Félix Oudart, De Neuville....and many others were also contributors.Subscription to the periodical was 40 Fr. per year. This type of illustrated periodical ( extremely expensive and complicated to publish) reached a total of 187 issues and ended in 1877. It was almost certainly driven out of the market with the rise of good photographic reproduction. Paris à l'Eau-Forte remains a unique example of an illustrated periodical , witness of the cultural vitality and creativity in Paris after the horrible year 1870.
