‎Né en 1896 dans une famille de paysans pauvres, Jozsef Leng yel fut l'un des fondateurs du parti communiste hongrois. En URSS, il est arrêté au cours de la première vague d' " épuration " et condamné à la réclusion criminelle. Il passe dix-sept ans dans les camps de concentration de Sibérie, puis, réhabilité, retourne en 1955 à Budapest. Cet ouvrage, le pain amer est paru en 1965 en Hongrie. Ce volume contient 4 textes sur la Sibérie, celle des camps de concentration, récits sur la vie concentrationnaire. Photos sur demande.‎
