‎(Paris, Baudouin, AN XI (1803)). 4to. Without wrappers. Uncut. Extracted from ""Mémoires de L'Institut National des Sciences et Arts"", Tome Quatrieme. Pp. 209-218 and 2 large folded engraved plates. (The plate depicting ""Areng à Sucre"" measuring 42x33 cm.). Clean and fine.‎

‎First printing of the first description of a new genus of palms, which he named it Arenga after the name Areng given to it in the Moluccas.Labillardière was a French explorer and botanist, he travelled in the Near East in 1786 and he joined the expedition in search of La Perouse.‎
