A quite scarce edition published by Koehn. "This book in a brief outline, tells us of the ancestry, childhood and youth of Confucius; his many years as a moral leader of devoted disciples; the short time of his official positions and great power, his thirteen years of weary wanderings, the time spent in literary work; the melancholy end of the great Sage who, lonely and embittered, had withdrawn from the world with its petty ambitions, chicaneries and wickedness." The illustrations have been copied by the well known Peking artist, Lu Hung-nien, from an undated collection of woodblock prints, depicting in one hundred and five pictures the life of Confucius.
