Clean and crisp interior. Dutch translation of the first English edition ( London 1728). Good copy of a rare and very interesting book, the first authoritative description of Japan in the western world. The second edition is divided in five books and an appendix on the natural history of Japan. It also contains a biography of the author by J.Scheuchzer . (Cox I 332 for the English edition).
