‎16. Lovanii, (Leuven), Ex Officina Typographica Ioannis Bogardi (Johannes Bogardus), 1568, in-4°, 23 x 16,5 cm, titlepage with woodcut printers mark + (10) nn pp + 553 pp + (1)(vignette). Old supple vellum binding with traces of ties, small marginal loss of paper at the upper corner of the first 15 leaves, manuscript ex-libris on the title page (Douval -?- dated 1696), small 19th century circular ex-libris stamp on title (Bibliotheca..Ste Margarete) , a nice copy without stains or browning. Cornelius Jansenius (Hulst 1510- Gent 1576) was the first bishop of the dioscese of Ghent (1568). He was doctor in theology and participated at the Council of Trente on behalve of the university. From 1562 until 1568 he was president of the college of theology at Leuven University. USTC 401342..‎

‎ Lovanii, ( Leuven ) , Apud Petrum Zangrium Tiletanum, sub Fonte, (colophon Impensis Petri Zangrij Tiletani , excudebat Ioannes Masius) , 1576 - 1577, in-folio, 32 x 21,3 cm, (24)nn pp (titlepage with woodcut printers mark) + 1128 (= 1133) pp + (1)(censura) + (16)nn pp (indices) (complete) . Contemporary full leather, edges painted red, binding restored, spine and corners with loss of leather which has been expertly repaired , two library stamps on title page, first and last leaves with frayed edges and some marginal loss of paper - one paper restoration at title leaf corner (no loss of text). Cornelius Jansenius ( Senior or Hulstensis) was the first bishop of the dioscese of Ghent (1568). He was doctor in theology and participated at the Council of Trente. From 1562 until 1565 he was president of the college of theology at Louvain University. His commentariorum is his main work. It was a pionering work in the history of Roman Catholic exegesis. The first edition was published also in Louvain, in 1572. USTC 401689.‎
