Canterbury, Henry Ward, Londres, Whittaker, 1836 in-4, 58 pp., avec 19 gravures (dont 18 hors-texte et une dans le texte, comme cul-de-lampe final), demi-chevrette souple verte, dos lisse muet, titre poussé sur le plat supérieur (reliure de l'éditeur). Rousseurs.
Le texte lui-même a été composé par Th. Woolnoth, et était paru d'abord en 1816, mais il est d'usage de placer ce beau recueil sous le nom de l'artiste. Thomas Hastings (1778-1854) est un personnage étonnant aux multiples facettes : né Thomas Barnett, il changea son nom en celui d'Hastings en 1812, et c'est le même homme qui fit une brillante carrière militaire dans l'armée anglaise, de 1795 à 1811, puis dans les douanes (1819), et qui s'attira ensuite la renommée comme graveur et peintre amateur, spécialisé en paysages, marines, vues topographiques, etc.Un seul exemplaire au CCF (INHA). - - VENTE PAR CORRESPONDANCE UNIQUEMENT
