(interior fine). In 1820 when the future Belgium and The Netherlands were re-united the government in the Hague took over the administration of the river Meuse. On January 1st 1840 this was reversed for the Belgian part of the river. The administration was taken over by Brussels. This rare and exhaustive report describes the geographical, nautical and economical history and situation of the river; with many details on e.g. the nature of merchandises which are shipped, statistical data on ships, toll tariffs etc. This is the first report in a series of five."
