1877 84, 12 p., one chromolithographed plate, one folded map of North America with four colours indicating the areas in 1877 where this devastating beetle advanced, paperbound (original printed covers). Most probably the first German treatise on this "terrible" beetle (now a proverbial threat to the potato culture worldwide), then considered a very great danger to the German potato crop because of its rapid spread throughout Europe. The map depicts the rapid spread through North America. After this publication the "Kaiserliche Deutsche Reichskanzleramt" stopped the import of American potatoes. Uncut and unopened. Some very slight foxing, otherwise a very good copy. Here is added the explanation of the Wandtafel (wall poster). Explanation booklet only, wall poster not present.
