‎Édition originale. Ecrivain, bourgeois bordelais, Edmond Géraud (1775-1831) manifesta une grande hostilité à l'Empire, qui lui valut quelques ennuis. Se croyant en droit d'obtenir des faveurs de la Restauration, il vint à Paris avec son ami Maine de Biran ; déçu il retourna à Bordeaux dès 1817. Sainte-Beuve voyait en lui le premier romantique avant Hugo, mais il n'avait pas jugé que son journal valût d'être édité. Bertier, 459. 1 portrait en frontispice. ‎
