Florkin, the 'Fouding father of comparative biochemistry' was a pupil of Lon Fredericq. He wrote over 800 scientific papers, and contributed greately to the history of life sciences. An interesting association copy (dated 1 dec. 1970) with author's autograph dedication to the Baron & Baroness Arnoud Papeians de Morchoven (dit van der Strepen). Including the original prospectus for this publication, and a memo card in Florkin's handwriting, drawing the Baron's attention to a publication of M.V.
