A la Haye, J. Neaulme, 1741. Small 8vo. Cont. full mottled calf. Richly gilt back with 6 compartments. Gilt leather titlelabel. A small nick to lower part of back, 2 corners lightly bumped. A fine copy, on good paper. Engraved frontispiece (dated 1707). IV,XVIII,394,(6) pp., 1 large engraved vignette and 8 engraved plates with many figs., showing details of fireworks.
A highly esteemed treatise of fireworks for celebration. Originally issued 1706, and this edition, pirated by Naulme the publisher, is identical to the 1706 edition, apart from the titlepage. Encouraged by this pirated edition Frezier wrote a second edition which appeared in 1747 in three different versions. (Chris Philip, Firework Books F 110.3).
