A very fine copy with a spotless interior and a finely preserved binding with minimal traces of use. Only quality remark pertains to a non obtrusive dark line on the front cover ( due to a waterstain which left no other visible traces). Indeed a remarkebly fine and well preserved copy. Provenance : the book carries several manuscript ex-libris and also two printed; The oldest seems to be Jacobi Desboie... (de Ludio - 1607 ) (made illegible); this would be Jacques Desboia, curé de Lude ( dept. Sarthe). In 1644 it belonged to Jacobi Baudry curé de Lude. The printed ex-libris refer to Houdebert de Saint-Aubin, prêtre; the most recent is from Louis Ernest Dubois (1856 - 1929) archbischop of Bourges (he became later cardinal of Paris). The priest Houdebert de Saint-Aubin was also active in Lude. He left his library to ''L'Hopital de la Miséricorde de Lude'' (he died in 1784.) (répertoire des ex-libris français H0530).
