Important book on a ‘forgotten collector’s subject’! Who, nowedays knows that colour-printing in the 18th & early 19th century was a much more expensive way of producing than ‘handcolouring’. London, Geoffrey Holme editor, 1922, in-folio, 38 x 29 cm, ix + 35 pp + 96 plates h.t. of which 24 are photo engravings (photogravures) which are printed on special paper and have a protective leaf with printed caption, some are printed with toned ink, special edition printed in 200 numbered copies (nr. 19), publisher's full vellum binding with gilt lettering, kept in a publisher's cloth portfolio. Very fine spotless copy.
