BELLE ET TRES RARE LETTRE AUTOGRAPHE DU PIANISTE ANGLAIS J.-B. CRAMER Cramer qui se trouve à Vienne, demande à ses amis et associés Robert Addison et Thomas Frederick Beale, de bien vouloir accueillir Carl Czerny et Conrad Graf durant leur séjour à Londres et de les présenter aux « Misses Broadwood » : …Le porteur de cette note est M Czerny qui, accompagné par son ami M. Graf, un des principaux fabricants de piano forte résidant à Vienne, après avoir visité Paris propose de prolonger son voyage jusquà Londres et y séjourner, je vous considère assez bon pour les présenter à mes excellentes amies les Demoiselles Broadwood et prodiguer toutes marques de gentillesse que vous serez peut-être disposé à leur montrer lors de leur court séjour à Londres…Cramer simposa comme lun des pianistes les plus doués de sa génération lors de sa tournée en Angleterre et sur le continent européen de 1788 à 1791. De retour en Angleterre, il mena une carrière de pianiste. En 1824 il fonde la maison dédition musicale Cramer & Co en partenariat avec Robert Addison et Thomas Frederick Beale. Lentreprise se fit connaître sous le nom de Cramer, Addison & Beale. Carl Czerny (1791-1857), mentionné dans la lettre, est un compositeur et pianiste autrichien, son ami Conrad Graf (1782-1851), un facteur de pianos autrichien-allemand. Ses pianos furent utilisés entre autres par Beethoven, Chopin et Clara Schumann.
