" Paris, Robert Pepie, 1690, in-8°, (26)nn pp (with engraved frontispiece ; engraved portrait of Louis XIV as small vignet) + 263 pp + (15)nn pp (complete), with several small copper engraved vignets, bound in contemporary full calf, raised gilt spine, edges red sprinkled, no library or provenance markings. Fine copy. Second edition (first in 1675) of the poetry and orations of Cossart edited by P. de la Rue. On pp. 257 the famous sonnet by De Bensserade (in French) on the Fire of London; now here translated by Cossart as '' De Incendio Londinensi ''. The author was professor of ''Rhetorica'' at the Clermont College in Paris ( the most important Jesuit College in France)."
