About The Author Chris Armold is a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force and a former member of the USAF Security Police. He has been a collector of militaria and a mili tary historian for over 20 years. His assignments have taken him from the corn fields of Indiana to the halls of the Pentagon. While stationed in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan he covered the Green Bay Packers as a free-lance writer, and photographer for The Packer Report. He has a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and in March 1998 will complete a dual-masters degree in Public Administration and Human Resources Development. He has been married to his wife, Connie, for nearly 14 years. He is current ly assigned to the 314th Contracting Squadron, Little Rock Air Force Base, Arkansas. About The Editor Al Pahl contributes more than 13 years of communications experience as editor of Steel Pots: The History of America's Steel Combat Helmets. With a bachelor's degree in Mass Communications, he was the managing editor of Ray Nitschke's Packer Report covering the National Football League's Green Bay Packers from 1986 to 1995. Today, he is a software training and support specialist, concentrating in student information systems. He is also a free-lance writer/photographer.
