In-folio, (38) ff., demi-chagrin brun légèrement frotté, plats de percaline avec titre doré sur le 1er plat, fers d’angle (un manquant).Cet album unique est une copie par le père Locard Ainé du recueil de Jean-Jacques Champin, Excursion à la Grande Chartreuse en montant par Saint-Laurent du Pont, visitant les bords du Guyer mort et descendant par le Sapey (Paris, Goupil, Rittner, 1838).Il comprend un titre manuscrit et 36 jolies vues d'après nature, composées à l'encre et à l'aquarelle, montées sur onglets et vernissées, sur papier épais filigrané de la papeterie Johannot, à Annonay.Dos légèrement frotté, fer d’angle inférieur du premier plat manquant.------------Circa 1850. In-folio, (38) pages, lightly rubbed brown half-chagrin, percaline boards with gilt title on 1st board, corner irons (one missing). "La Grande Chartreuse" is the first monastery of the Carthusian order, founded in the 11th century in the former province of Dauphiné (French Alps).This unique album is a copy by Father Locard Ainé of Jean-Jacques Champin's collection "Excursion à la Grande Chartreuse en montée par Saint-Laurent du Pont, visitant les bords du Guyer mort et descendant par le Sapey" (Paris, Goupil, Rittner, 1838). It includes a handwritten title and 36 pretty views from nature, composed in ink and watercolour, mounted on tabs and varnished, on thick watermarked paper from the Johannot paper mill in Annonay. Spine slightly rubbed, lower corner iron on first cover missing.
