‎ Paris, Ernest Panckoucke, 1839, folio, xvi + 106 + 1 unn pp, 12 colored facsimile pages (lithographs printed on chine appliqué paper), publisher's boards covered with red paper, gilt title on spine. Binding with worn extremeties, top of spine missing (ca. 6 cm). Interior with some slight foxing but still a good copy of the original edition. Champollion-Figeac discusses Indoeuropean, alphabets, Latin inscriptions, and finally the older text samples in this generously presented work. Champollion lovingly describes each plate in detail and fills in the background..‎
