Some pages with thumbing. ex-library with a stamp on verso of title, Typical specimen of a Plantin liturgical imprint, all pages printed in red and black, with wood engraved ornamental initials and tail pieces. Rare edition published at the end of the old era. The subject is also quite unusual among the many 'officia'' published by the Plantin-Moretus press.

Both outer joints split but still holding, first endpaper renewed, inside clean.,Still a nice specimen of a liturgical book published by the Antwerp Plantin Press. Printed according the highest typographical standard. For a long period in the 17th-18th c. the Plantin Press had the monopoly in the Iberian penisula and in South-America for al the liturgical publications of the Roman Catholic Church.

The execution and typography are clearly based on the 200 year old tradition of the Plantin-Moretus press in Antwerp (Soutern Netherlands) This press held the privilege for these kind of books for the Spanish kingdom and its American colonies until the French Revolution..

The book shows signs of extensive usage; resulting in a slight bulging of the central quires, thumbing at some pages and even papeer restoration of the margins of some much used pages. In general however, still an acceptable copy with a fine stainless engraved title with no ex-library markings. Second parft of a rare Spanish edition of this liturgical book for use by the Carmelite brothers and sisters."

Schoepen -Antverpiae-Bibliopolae, 1875 ) + 16 pp. ( with 3 full page engravings). Entirely printed in red & black. 19th c. full black leather, all edges gilt. marbled endpapers. Nice copy. Rare 18th c. liturgical imprint from the Plantin Moretus press with some 19th c. additions. Particulary interesting is the ''Supplementum ad Diurnum''. This text was printed by Friedrich Pustet in Regensburg in 1875 for the account of the Antwerp bookdealer J.B.Schoepen. This is obviously an attempt by Pustet to acquire some business of the Plantin Press which was ending its publication business and was now in the process of being converted to the famous Museum Plantin-Moretus. (finalised in 1876)..

Dessain, 1893, in-folio, 31 x 22,5 cm, XXVIII pp + 472 pp + (143) pp + 18 pp + 13 pp + some unpaginated leaves (additions) bound in entirely printed in red and black, some full page black/white illustrations (one signed H. Bauer ), some printed music staves, bound in full red leather, with gilt decoration on front and back cover, all edges gilt. Raised gilt spine. Extremities of the binding with some wear but not resulting in loss of leather. The book has served during mass so it show on the interior some slight wear and thumbing, but it is still a fine/good copy of an impressive liturgical book of the Roman Catholic Church.
