" Amsterdam, Ex Officina Elzeviriana, 1635, in-12°, 128 mm, (24) nn pp + 561 pp + (70)nn pp, with engraved title-page, 5 full page woodcuts, portrait and three folding engraved maps. Bound in contemporary full overlapping vellum, small stain on spine, some old marginal notes in ink with some neat underlinings, title and portrait with slight traces of old colouring, notwithstanding these remarks a very fine and tall copy. Willems 420. First edition, second impression with a sirene in woodcut at the head of the second leaf and page 238 misnumbered (248 instead). Willems writes very laudatory remarks on this edition and considers it to be the finest of all the Elzevier productions. He explicitly writes on our edition ; '' cette réimpression (de la première édition) est admirablement exécutée (et) copie ligne pour ligne l'édition originale ''.."
