William Eusebius Andrews (1773-1837) was a Roman Catholic journalist, and editor of several Catholic journals. This work ran from 1813 to 1820, when he was forced to suspend publication, despite support from Bishop Milner. He revived the journal in 1834, and it was continued after his death. Andrews was also the founder of several other (mainly short lived) Catholic journals, and "The Friends of Civil and Religious Liberty", a tract society.‎

‎Rare EDITION ORIGINALE. Andrews a traduit une tragédie allemande de Christoph Unzer avec Henry James Pye . Il a été publié en 1798 sous le titre L'inquisiteur . Parmi les autres ouvrages, citons The Savages of Europe ( Londres , 1764), une satire sur l'anglais qu'il a traduite du français de Robert-Martin Lesuire (1737-1815) et de Louvel;Andrews construit lui-même le manoir gothique Strawberry Hill de Donnington Grove , près de la maison familiale, en 1763, conçu par John Chute . Il vendit la maison en 1783. [2] Il participa régulièrement aux travaux du Comité pour le soulagement des pauvres noirs dans les années 1780.Son ouvrage principal est une Histoire de la Grande-Bretagne liée à la chronologie de l'Europe, de l'invasion de César à l'accession d' Edouard VI , en 2 volumes (Londres, 1794-1795). ‎First printing of Andrew's paper in which he shows, that ozone is oxygen in allotropic form.Andrews subsequently turned his attention to the problem of the constitution of ozone. This had been investigated by a number of chemists, including Schöonbein, its discoverer. Its nature was still unknown, however, and it was by no means certain that the ozone obtained from different sources was one and the same substance" it was thought by some to contain hydrogen. Andrews says his researches extended over four or five years, and he finally reached the conclusion that all the supposed varieties of ozone were identical and that it was in fact oxygen in an altered or allotropic condition. ‎
