Dadaism, or Dada for short, was a cultural movement that emerged during World War I in Zurich, neutral Switzerland. The movement was at its peak sometime between 1916 and 1920. Dada's artists were involved in mixed forms of visual art, poetry, theater and graphic design. The movement shows a kinship with nihilism in its mentality through the deliberately irrational and undermining of generally accepted standards.
