‎1880-1882 1522 [720, 802] p. with over 2000 steel engravings in the text, and 36 plates, 4to, contemporary half calf over marbled boards, spine with five raised bands, gilt lines and gilt title. Marbled endpapers. Spreckled edges. A massive book, being the complete French translation of the insect part of Brehm's "Tierreich". Usually offered in two volumes, but this copy has them combined into one volume. Boards rubbed, front free endpaper chipped at the fore edge, as usual a bit foxed in the text, otherwise a good copy.‎
